THE DYSLEXIA RESCUE METHOD

Our Core Pillars of Learning

STRUCTURED LITERACY INSTRUCTION

Our approach utilizes explicit, systematic, and multi-sensory techniques to teach the structure of language. By breaking down speech sounds, spelling patterns, and syllable rules, we empower students with the essential tools required to decode text with confidence and reading fluency.

EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

Academic success extends beyond literacy. We guide students in cultivating critical cognitive tools, including time management, task initiation, working memory enhancement, and mindful organization, transforming overwhelming routines into structured, achievable pathways.

TRAUMA-INFORMED PRACTICES

Recognizing that learning struggles can create deep emotional vulnerability, our framework integrates nervous system regulation and supportive co-regulation. We foster a deeply safe, predictable, and affirming space where students feel secure enough to take creative intellectual risks.

PEDAGOGY

DYSLEXIA RESCUE® VIDEO-BASED FAMILY COURSES: INTRO AND PEDAGOGY — FOR THE EDUCATORS IN THE ROOM

The Dyslexia Rescue Method represents a paradigm shift in developmental reading instruction. Rather than framing dyslexia purely through a deficit lens, our pedagogy treats it as an alternative cognitive architecture—one that thrives on visual, holistic, and contextual input. This course is designed to empower families directly, bypass classical institutional bottlenecks, and rebuild foundational decoding pathways using structured linguistic frameworks delivered via intuitive video modules.

Restoring the Natural Ecology of Learning

At Dyslexia Rescue, our parent and child programs are built on a pedagogically sound foundational design: learning through authentic participation. Parent and child are guided through a carefully sequenced, research-based series of lessons—first as observers, then as active participants and then as independent learners.
Through our pre-recorded video lessons, participants see each technique modeled in real practice, as a parent and child learns to read step by step with Ms. Finch. The parent and child learn the skills by watching and participating while the parent learns how to teach/ practice with the child directly, later in the week.
This structure mirrors how master teachers have always passed on their art: through demonstration, guided practice and independent practice.
This approach is pedagogically sound because it honors the natural flow of learning—observation, integration, and expression.
Parents and teachers don’t merely learn about structured literacy; they experience it from the inside out. It’s a method grounded in both research and relationship, proven to yield transformative results for children and parents while restoring confidence and harmony in the learning environment.
Ultimately, this is not just an educational method—it’s a months-long journey of restoration. The same structure that trains teachers to reach every learner also empowers parents to reclaim their role as their child’s most trusted and capable guide..

For educators, this methodology provides a vital home-side companion that reinforces classroom phonological instruction without inducing cognitive fatigue or emotional resistance at home.
