Our Founder and Director, Diana Finch M.Ed., M.Div. is a person with dyslexia and ADHD. After facing her own difficult learning challenges throughout childhood, she graduated from University of California at Davis with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She went on to earn a California Elementary Education Certification, an English as a Second Language credential, underwent trainings and certifications in Orton-Gillingham and Reading Recovery, earned a Master of Education degree and Master of Ministerial Science degree.
In her career, she served as a classroom teacher, Title 1 Reading Specialist, elementary school principal, literacy specialist, curriculum director, county-level literacy specialist and consortium director, regional and federal-level leader in literacy development within the public school system. She was presidentially-appointed by George W. Bush, becoming the youngest-ever federal level school reformer in history, at the time. Throughout her distinguished career, she devoted herself to supporting children, families, schools and systems whose values reflected the mission she carried in her heart - to bring transformative change and meaningful learning outcomes to children with dyslexia, ADHD and other learning challenges.
Diana founded Reading Rescue in Naples, Florida, in 2016 as part of her ministry, Restoring Flow Ministries (RFM)—a mission dedicated to providing exceptional academic and behavioral services that, combined with pastoral (emotional) support, help children and families heal emotionally and spiritually from the often traumatic effects of reading failure.
After achieving extraordinary results with her unique, research-based structured literacy curriculum, Reading Rescue transitioned online in 2020 during the widespread shutdowns. The program’s success has continued to flourish, earning a decade of five-star reviews on Google.
Today, Reading Rescue remains the core private-services branch of RFM and the foundation for Diana’s expanded initiative, Dyslexia Rescue—RFM’s parent education and empowerment program.
Diana established a location in Scottsdale, Arizona, in 2025 but remains deeply connected to her beloved Naples community and divides her time between both locations. Most services are offered online, with in-person services available based on her travel schedule. Diana is also a registered provider with the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) in Scottsdale.
Keeping the same proven restoration ministry, curriculum and methods, now called the Dyslexia Rescue Method, Diana designed an online program for parents and children. This research based structured literacy program brings the same great approach home to families. Parents and children learn the Dyslexia Rescue method of structured literacy by watching prerecorded videos of Diana teaching her private students four days per week. Then, parents meet with Diana live on zoom for a question and answer hour before teaching their own children directly for three days each week. This pedagogically sound approach to parent training brings services to more children in need while providing parents a more than 70% discount from private lesson costs. Haven long been an innovator in her field, Diana knows how to take a good thing and expand it.
