A Personal Understanding of Dyslexia
Our Founder, Diana Finch, M.Ed., M.Sc., is a person with dyslexia and ADHD. After overcoming significant learning challenges throughout her own childhood, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Davis. She later obtained a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, an English as a Second Language credential, completed training and certification in Orton-Gillingham and Reading Recovery, and earned both a Master of Education and a Master of Ministerial Science degree.
Decades of Educational Experience
Throughout her career, Diana has served as a classroom teacher, Title I Reading Specialist, elementary school principal, literacy specialist, curriculum director, county-level literacy specialist and consortium director, and regional and federal leader in literacy development within the public school system. She was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as a federal school reform leader, becoming the youngest person ever appointed to that role at the time.
Helping Struggling Readers Reach Their Potential
For 25+ years, Diana has devoted her career to helping children with dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning challenges reach their full potential. She has partnered with children, families, schools, and educational systems that share her commitment to transforming the lives of struggling learners through evidence-based instruction, compassionate support, and lasting educational change.
Diana Finch founded Reading Rescue in Naples, Florida, in 2016 as part of her ministry, Restoring Flow Ministries (RFM)—a mission dedicated to providing exceptional academic instruction and executive functioning skills development that, combined with trauma-informed practices, help children and families recover academically, emotionally and spiritually from the often traumatic effects of reading failure.
After achieving extraordinary results with her unique, research-based structured literacy curriculum, Reading Rescue of Naples, Florida rebranded to Dyslexia Rescue® in 2025. Now located in Scottsdale, Arizona, Dyslexia Rescue serves families locally and nationwide via Zoom and through video courses for families.
Diana is a listed service provider with the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) in Scottsdale.
